The mis- and mal-educated have been pushing the idea that we hate all immigrants, even though we may be the children of, married to, or are ourselves, immigrants ever since I was in High School. When we point out that we embrace legal immigrants, and just want the illegal aliens sent back home, they continue to blather on as if we had never mentioned anything at all.

The progressive politicians, academics, and everyone in the MSM are extremely disingenuous on nearly every topic, but this one and is one of the most egregious examples they’ve perpetuated over the last half century.

I Think They Buried the Lede

Homelessness is up according to this article from the Associated Press, which I saw come across my yahoo!news feed . And I can believe it. But as soon as I saw the headline, I was curious about whether they included illegal aliens.

And, what do you know? They do actually get around to talking about it, eventually. Like 18 paragraphs into the story.

“So when we saw the pandemic-era protections go away, we did start to see homelessness starting to increase again. We saw more people being evicted, housing instability,” Giffen said. “But then all of that got kind of masked by the sudden, very rapid influx of new asylum seekers, and that is a crisis for which the city and state were more unprepared to deal with.”

Starting in the summer of 2022, New York City’s homeless shelter system has been overwhelmed by waves of international migrants who are being bused into the city from southern U.S. border states. More than 150,000 migrants have been in the city’s shelters for some period of time.

And then you get to the juicy little tidbit where the feds didn’t do their best work, more than likely so they could cover for this regime’s failures.

HUD did not get data that enabled it to separate out the specific impact of migrants and asylum seekers on homelessness, but some communities indicated it did affect their increase.

Not the Bee has an article out by Joel Abbott regarding a calendar put out by Ultra Right Beer that features “conservative” women in clothing that reveals shoulders, legs, thighs, and /gasp/ cleavage!

I generally find Not the Bee to be pretty informative, and rather funny in some of their takes on actual news. But this bit of catching the vapors because a few “conservative” women posed in swimsuits, shorts, skirts and skimpy tops seems a little over the top.

The whole comment about how Riley Gaines is, of all things, married and posing in a swimsuit is fall out of my chair Hi-Larious!

14th Consecutive Appearance

I’ve written before about the dominance that the NDSU Bison football team has had over the years. (here, here, here, and here) Yesterday they extended one record and made a new one. By beating Montana State 35-34 in a thrilling overtime game they won their 46th post-season game at the FCS/1-AA level, giving them a 46-4 record and surpassing the 45 wins that Georgia Southern put up before moving to the FBS. That’s all since 2010. And now they’re headed to their record extending 14th consecutive quarter-final game.

This has been a down year for the Bison, losing three conference games. They’ll get a chance at redemption against one of those teams, South Dakota, next weekend. Should they win there, and I think they have an excellent chance, and then win their semi-final game, and South Dakota State keeps winning, the Bison would have a shot at another team that beat them this year in a rematch of last year’s National Championship game.
