And the Beat Goes On . . . — Doctors for Responsible Gun Ownership — The zombie apocalypse survival homestead

[Ed: DRGO sees lots of “studies” marketed as gun control justification that we don’t have time to report on in detail, though they all should be. Thankfully, they often are reviewed by other Second Amendment advocates. We thought we’d catch up on a few here this week, some having been mentioned on our Facebook timeline,… via […]

OK, so the snow is getting old as well

Another storm this past weekend left nearly another foot of snow. More snow coming later this week as well. On the plus side, it’s warming up. Gonna get above freezing for the first time in over 60 days!

I spent a couple hours outside moving snow. Cleared the driveway with the snowblower, and also did part of the street from my driveway over to the neighbors driveway (other neighbors had done the same) since I didn’t know when the plow would come through and my wife might need to go somewhere in the car. As soon I got done with that the snowplow came through. So that was some wasted time.

I started digging my way to the deck steps in the back so I can clean off the deck. It’s about chest deep in the yard, so the going is slow. I made it halfway there. I’ll do some more when I get home tonight. It’s at least waist deep on the deck itself.

The snowbank behind me is the same snowbank that Little Britches was standing in front of a couple of weeks ago. I’m just over 6′ and it’s up to my neck now.

Because no one in a lower profile vehicle can see over the snowbanks, pulling out at intersections has become quite treacherous. My wife ended up in an accident and totaled her vehicle the other day.

I put duct tape over the gap at the top of the door to keep the snow out before the insurance adjuster showed up. I guess it doesn’t matter now. I’m gonna miss that car. It was comfortable. It was stylish. It got good gas mileage. The heated leather seats were awesome in the winter.

Well, back to the grind. Need to get ready for the 6-18″ of snow and 50 mph winds that’s supposed to be coming on Thursday after the rain on Wednesday.
